Prof. Kabudi visit’s TSN headquarters


MINISTER for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, visit’s Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited (TSN) headquarters in Dar es Salaam today, where he took the opportunity to familiarise himself with the organisation's advancements.

During his visit Prof Kabudi engaged with the management and journalists on how they write news and design the newspaper in which he encouraged them to keep upholding professionalism and creativity with the goal of practicing high quality journalism.

He underlined the importance of development journalism, responsible reporting and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among journalists as key drivers in enhancing the mass media’s contribution to national development.

Prof Kabudi said that development journalism aims to inform citizens about the socio-economic and political progress Tanzania has made, ensuring that these achievements are well-known both within the country and internationally, while also promoting the positive image of the nation.

The Minister also praised TSN, which publishes Daily News, HabariLEO, Sunday News, SpotiLEO, and Daily News Digital, for continuously updating citizens through special coverage on various activities, including the implementation of government projects aimed at enhancing prosperity.


Earlier, TSN’s Managing Director, Ms Asha Dachi said the commercial printing plant project upon completion will be game changers to the country’s printing industry by offering enabling the country’s newspaper publisher diversify its portfolios to large scale printing of newspapers, books, posters and documents.

The plant will be providing printing services to both the government and private sector’s customers, empowered with   world class publishing technology.    

Ms Dachi expressed her commitment on ensuring TSN remain as the key bridge connecting the government and the citizens through in-depth news reporting including investigative journalism.
