The Department of Information – MAELEZO and Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN) have shined in the awards presented by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB), in recognition of their contribution to PSPTB and in publicizing government implementation activities.
The awards were presented by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Eng. Musham Ali Munde, while opening the 16th Annual Procurement and Supplies Professionals Conference, a three-day event taking place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC).
The Department of Information received the award for its contribution in coordinating media outlets, journalists, and Government Communication Officers in disseminating information about various government implementation efforts, including development projects that benefit citizens.
Another reason both the Department of Information and TSN were recognized is their long-standing sponsorship support to PSPTB over the years, publicizing annual stakeholders’ meetings through news articles and live broadcasts.
Awards were also presented to other public and private institutions including; Ozone International, BRAVADO, the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), Iringa District Council, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), UTT-AMIS, and the Zanzibar Airports Authority (ZAA).
Other institutions honored were the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), Workers Compensation Fund (WCF), the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), CRDB Bank, Fair Competition Commission (FCC), Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Geita Gold Mine (GGM), e-Government Authority (eGA), and Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC).
PSPTB continues to execute its statutory responsibilities, including organizing the annual conference for procurement and supplies professionals by bringing together experts from within and outside the country, from both the public and private sectors. The main goal is to connect professionals and stakeholders across the procurement and supply chain to receive training, exchange diverse experiences from the conference, improve performance in delivering quality services to citizens, and contribute to the nation’s development.
