TSN Women Participate in International Women’s Day Celebrations

Women employees of the Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN) today participated in the climax of the International Women’s Week celebrations held at Barafu Grounds in Mburahati, Dar es Salaam. The event was officiated by the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila.

The Chairperson of the TSN Women’s Committee, Anna Laizer, thanked the company’s management for enabling them to take part in the celebrations. She said the event is important in promoting women’s rights and equality, especially in the workplace.

“We sincerely thank our Director, Madam Asha Dachi, for giving us the opportunity to participate in this important celebration. Our aim is to continue demonstrating the valuable contribution of women to national development,” said Anna.

She added that women play an important role in maintaining peace, discipline, and cooperation in the workplace, which helps ensure that work is carried out smoothly.

On their part, TSN employees Ester Sanga and Lydia Inda said the day is important as it reminds society about the need to promote equality and fairness for women in all areas of life.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Rights and Equality for Women and Girls: A Foundation for Inclusive Development Towards Vision 2050.”
